Okay, I have a question. My numbers are now in Yakezie member territory (55,646 for http://www.ChicagoOnTheCheap.com and 61,671 for http://www.TheRootOfAll.com) – hurray! Am I allowed to change the badges from challenger to member?

Hello Everyone. Happy New Year. I am the Frugal Feminista http://www.thefrugalfeminista.com. My current Alexa rating is: 1,419,854. I have a ways to go but I think joining forces and helping each other out will make all of us stronger.
Hey Kara, great looking blog! Good luck on the challenge. I joined in early December and have seen my Alexa rank decline quickly. Keep on keeping on with great content and trying new things. It's just a matter of time and effort.

I'm just under 500k on the challenge. It's been great so far…the Alexa tool is a great measuring stick. I have no idea exactly how it works but it does make me feel good to see that number getting smaller and smaller.
I have a question for my fellow Challengers- what do you think or what have you seen as a better method of socializing on other blogs: constantly picking new blogs to comment on and making a point of going out to comment on new blogs every week OR selecting a limited amount of fellow blogs to comment on, and keep commenting on these select blogs? Or is it a combination of both although at a certain point, it becomes physically impossible to post on your blog, comment on friend's blogs, and constantly find new blogs to comment on…and raise a family, go to work, and eat, etc.
I'd like to make a plan when it comes to posting on other's blogs but I'm not sure where my time would be best spent. I'd appreciate any comments/ideas/experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year! I'm ready to take the Yakezie Challenge. I've installed the Alexa toolbar and am at 432,171 currently. My goal is to get below 200,000 after 6 months. I look forward to meeting and interacting with members here.
My goal is to retire by 40 from dividend income and real estate investments. My plan is to buy solid dividend paying companies that have storied track records of increasing their dividends each year at a rate higher than inflation. Come follow me on my journey to FI!
The challenger badge will be up today and I'll make a post about it this week.

I second the question posed here by Small Business Billionaire. What is the best way to keep track of the blogs that you want to visit? And how much time should you spend networking vs. creating content? I'm starting to feel like a juggler with too many balls in the air.

Hi Guys-
My name is Liz and I blog at http://Budgetingformore.com
I joined the challenge TODAY {January 4, 2014} and my Alexa score 703,628!
I started this blog to pursue my passion of writing and personal finance. I started out studying journalism in college as this was my passion however, the recession was in full swing and I got scared. I didn't think I could find a good job in journalism and I was craving stability. So I doubled in accounting as this seemed to have much better job prospects and pursued that career after college. I now work at a large publicly traded company as a tax accountant. I don't regret this choice necessarily, but I do feel that writing is my passion.
Hubby and I graduated from school with a lot of student loan debt. We are working really hard to pay down these loans so that we can move on to the next exciting chapter of our lives- starting a family : ) I will be blogging about the financial decisions we are making in our mid-twenties and our journey towards debt freedom. Seems like there is so much to learn and so many choices to make. I am learning about frugal living habits and am an avid crocheter/crafter.
I'm really excited to be joining the Yakezie challenge :)

Hi Kay,
I asked the question on my blog via a poll and the majority of my followers use feedly which uses your RSS feed.

For the most part, I've been posting at random, but I have added a few blogs to my RSS feed. If I have a day with some extra time, I do a lot of reading and surfing, and always find something new.
That almost sounds like a standard spam comment, doesn't it? Want to buy UGG boots?

Annie, can you explain adding a blog to your RSS feed? Is that like subscribing to their RSS feed so that their posts get sent to you by email? What's the difference between that and just subscribing to their blog using their subscribe box…or is that the same thing?
My method so far is that I just post on the blogs around here and around my Twitter. I only have like 30 twitter followers so I'll post on their blogs the most. Other than that I feel like I don't want to spread around too much because I hate to just go to one blog, make a post, then run away and never come back. Although it seems like this is totally acceptable…not sure.

My advice is not to over think it. When I was in the challenge I thought I needed to keep a spreadsheet to track which blogs I commented on and such, and quickly learned trying to track that level of detail was a waste of time. It's encouraging to find fellow challengers blogs that you like as well as Member blogs that you enjoy reading and build relationships. After several visits you'll start to figure out which sites you enjoy reading the most and thus will have the most fun commenting on.
Using the Yakezie network page http://yakezie.com/personal-fi…..nce-blogs/ is a really helpful way to see what current Members have published too, so you can find articles you're interested in and get to know some of the Members.
