Hi everyone, I have joined the Yakezie challenge today.  My current Alexa ranking is 4,914,165 Globally and 507,332 US, (wow a long way to go, but I can do it).

I work in personal finance as an accountant.  I’m not a professional financial advisor now, but I have a good grasp of most of the concepts of personal finance and financial planning through my work experience and educational background.

For my work experience, I was a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) now known as Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) where I held a Series 6 license (covering mutual funds, variable annuities, securities and tax regulations, retirement plans, and insurance products).  For the past 13 years I've been an accountant mostly in the real estate investment industry.  I've worked for publicly traded companies, privately held companies, institutional investors, and have run a few businesses of my own including tax preparation services among others.  As for my education, I have a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, and a Law degree.

I look forward to completing the Yakezie challenge, and I'm very excited to be a part of this great community.

Welcome to the challenge, and good luck! I just followed you on Twitter and took a look at your site–I think I'll find it personally useful, so looking forward to reading more.

Now, how did you manage 1077 Twitter followers with only 34 tweets and 20 follows?!? Smile

Hi Money Counselor, thanks for looking at my site and following.  As for twitter, not many of the people I know were using twitter and I wanted to focus on adding as many followers as I could immediately.  I asked an influential person I know to see if they could ask people to follow me.  It seems I was able to get a  lot of followers that way, but then I noticed they are not what I would call an active following.  My active following on twitter is really less than 100 people that I would say I may really have an influence on.  I'm also working on having other friends I have on other social networks to come follow me on twitter.

Hi everyone,

Excited to have just joined the Yakezie Challenge! I just launched my website this morning, The Empowered Dollar. Right now my Alexa ranking is at 23,801,993 (YIKES) – so I suppose I can only go up from here! :)

Here's a little about me:

When I graduated from college in 2009 in the middle of the “Great Recession,” I was living on my own, making just $1,000 a month with almost $30,000 in student loans and credit card debt. I knew I’d hit my financial rock bottom when I had to choose between buying my monthly bus pass and paying for my prescription.

I blamed the economy, I blamed my college education, I blamed a lot of things for the situation I was in. But I knew that blame wasn’t going to get me anywhere. I began reading personal finance blogs to help me survive paycheck to paycheck. While I began fixing my own financial future, I also committed to helping others avoid the same fate. I started teaching money management classes, and I now help develop financial education curriculum and programs for kids all across the U.S.

Lucky for me, I managed to crawl my way out of debt, but I know that others my age aren’t so fortunate and are buried under monthly credit card payments and student loans, while working part-time jobs that barely pay above minimum wage.

My goal is to help prevent this from happening to anyone else, and to help parents build a debt-free, rich future for their kids.

Also, if there are any bloggers in the DC area that want to meet up, let me know!

I am the founder of http://www.moneywatch101.com/  and I am happy to be a part of my first finance blogger forum.

I wanted to let everybody know that I am now doing the challenge and my Alexa Ranking is 11,265,820 on a global scale and no info for the U.S. ranking yet. As you can see by my ranking I am far behind many other bloggers, but I do this website thing as a way to get my point of view regarding money out there in the world and not for immediate fame. I know it will be hard but with dedication and work ethic, I can grow my readership and improve my ranking.

Thanks to all,

Rich Uncle EL

Welcome The Empowered Dollar and Money Watch 101.

Don't let the Alexa rankings scare you too much, mine was around 22Million not long ago and after 6 weeks online it went down to around 2.2Million right now.

Here's a couple of things I noticed from looking around at other blogs.  There's a lot of mememtum just from being alive or around the 10Million mark, and then it seems once you break 1Million bearier the momentum from that will push you into the top 200K. Laugh

I am the founder of WellKeptWallet.com and I just joined the Yakezie Challenge today, June 5th, 2012. My current ranking with Alexa is 3,743,007 and my goal is to be under 200,000 by December 1, 2012. If you have already made it under 200,000 what are a couple of things you could share with a guy just starting off?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi everyone!

I just joined the challenge. I started my site, MoneySmartGuides back in 2010 and have been slowly learning about blogging. I found out about the challenge and decided to give it a shot. My current Alexa ranking is just over 300K.

I'm looking forward to some new relationships.

Hi all!, Well I have decided to join the Yakezie Challenge, at first I thought to myself that I could not step up to the challenge…I simply do not think that I can write 2-4 article a week because of my full-time job and my busy personal life, but hey I am going to try! My site is http://www.accessnotdenied.com/ and it is basically a blog that focuses on stock market investing. I began the blog because I have a goal of trying to spread the word that investing in stocks does not have to be scary. My blog has some contributors who write about other subjects in addition to stocks, but basically it is a blog focused on helping people achieve wealth. Success to all! I will be writing a post on my site soon!

Thank you College Investor, by the way my Alexa rating for Access Not Denied! when I first began it in October of 2011 was around 22,000,000, I now am at around 1,200,000…I have rapidly gotten better in just 9 months. I want to be under 1,000,000 in a month….thanks for the reply.

Good for you Joe for taking on the Challenge. My bet is you'll find that the Challenge's benefits–including participating in this forum–will inspire you to keep your blog going strong and let you do it with less time spent. And since I am scared of stock investing just now, I'll be checking you out! Wink Kurt
