Hello Fellow Yakezie Challengers!!
As of last Sunday night (8/29), I officially joined in the challenge!
My Alexa ranking was 2,175,623…that’s a long way from 200,000
BUT I'm already down to 1,802,494 in 8 days!
Let’s see where I stand in 6 months by March 1st, 2011. Any progress is good progress. It’s going
DOWN!
I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi, Money Funk here. I joined the Yakezie with a 425,121 and at the end of the challenge was at approximately 86,000. Then I had to reevaluate my personal life for personal reasons and fell to now a 152,452 due to lack of being around. But I know what it takes to get it back up. So mid September… I am planning to vamp the writing back up to raise that number. A lot of good opportunities come your way with a nice Alexa score.
Goals… I have a few in mind, but some are still in the works. I am going to re-increase the Alexa numbers on Money Funk, finish setting up my healthy living blog and online store. My hopes are to kick it to working full-time from home. And the opportunities are prospering. Its just making sure I take the right ones, have a plan to increase the possibilities, and continue forward.
I remembered because I just recently joined. :) But maybe you could find the date by going to the original post on Financial Samurai and looking at when you said you joined.
I've enjoyed your writing, so I'm looking forward to you getting more active again. Good luck!

Hello all … first ever network of this sort that I have joined! I have been blogging for just over 10 months now and I blog in a couple of different areas.
I joined the Yakezie challenge on the 6th of September and my Alexa ranking was 690,522.
I write about money saving and finance including budgeting and the utilizing of online and computer tools to assist. Based on personal experience with Debt and Credit, I unfortunately have too close a familiarity with this subject!
In addition to money, I also write about some of my other interests on the site – Science Fiction and Fantasy books & Television shows that I have read and watched. Customer Service, Operations and Technology is what I do and I have a great interest and passion for this also and like to share some tips and tricks that have helped me over the years to become as successfull as I have done.
I can't wait to become more involved in Yakezie.

Hi Everyone
Well, I too was late in the game in joining the challenge on June 10, 2010. My blog is about saving money, going green, and having fun. I really do appreciate any of your help in getting my Alexa count up as well as my subscribers. My current Alexa count as of June 10 was 1, 722, 015 and as of today was 1,995, 973. For some reason I am getting worse. I post the PEP (Prairie EcoThrifter Picks) every Friday which include all the great personal finance and frugal reads of the week that I have had a chance to check out. It is my way of supporting fellow bloggers. I wish you all the best of luck and thanks for letting me participate.

So maybe some of you can fill me in and educate me on what I can do to get involved in the challenge? I want you to dumb it down for this fake doctor!
Some of my blogging goals:
-I love sharing my stories. That's the bottom line. I like blogging anonymously and sharing the brutal honest truth about the dumb/smart decisions I make. That is paramount.
-Blogging keeps me sane. It feels good when I reach people, but I know I am not reaching as many as I can.
-I want to write a book one day about stories and what I have learned throughout all this.
More specific statistical goals
-id love to get more subscribers, i recently just added some lovely artwork to my minimalist site for buttons for email/rss subscribers! I am still learning the WP design game.
-my traffic is weak. I know the formula, post often, consistent traffic. Life gets busy and I fall off. But I feel like I got a good system going. goal is to get my alexa ranking below 1,000,000 by the EOY.
-my seo is weak-er. I recently migrated from blogger to wordpress and am tagging/categorizing my posts.Then I plan on slapping that SEO plugin on top to see how it helps. Advice needed.
Thats more about me. I am getting the hang of this and loving every damn second! Get at me on twitter as well.

The math didn't both me, but now that you mention it… It seems like it would be easier to screen out spam at registration rather than trying to screen it out on every post. You can post without being registered anyway, can you? But it's just a minor complaint for me.
The $$ for becoming a CFP depends on the path you take. Nowadays, you have to have a bachelor's degree and there are also specific education requirements (certain classes) that you have to have completed. Then there's the test prep and test fee. I combined my bachelor's degree and education requirements. I chose a self-guided study method because I knew I could handle it and I was fresh out of college when I took the test. Many people choose a review course and guided study materials instead, which means a lot more $$$. But it works for them. And I don't think there's any getting around the test fee. Then there's the annual fee after you complete all the other requirements, but it's not that bad ($360, I think). I'll have to take a look at the costs in my post on Financial Samurai but also take a look at the benefits. The CFP designation opens a lot of doors into financial services.

Hello, I'm Max from MaximizingMoney.com.
I joined the Yakezie challenge on June 20, 2010, with an Alexa rank of 162,558, and my own goal was to get it under 100,000. I just checked, and I'm now at 143,627, so I'm slowly getting there.
My main reason for joining Yakezie was to be a part of a group of blogs that promoted each other, so I really appreciate that part of the original challenge and regularly promote other's articles. I basically subscribe to a bunch of blogs via email, and then try to promote as many articles as possible that catch my attention on any given day.
MaximizingMoney.com is primarily focused on bonus opportunities and the latest deals, which became an addiction of mine several years ago, but I occasionally branch out into other areas as well.
This is my first forum post, and I'm very happy to be a part of the group and moving forward into the future of Yakezie.

I joined up with the Yakezie Challenge on March 8th, 2010. I have moved up over 800,000 in the Alexa rankings to 470,000. I am still working on the top 200,000. I learned about the challenge from Well Heeled, and I am excited to be a part of the group.

I just joined the challenge today! I switched from wordpress.com to self-hosting about 3 weeks ago and I'd like to get my Alexa ranking back up! My current ranking is somewhere in the 1,500,000 so I've got a ways to go!
