Hi all,

I'm Matt from Dividend Monk. (www.dividendmonk.com)

I joined the Yakezie Challenge back in March, so technically I've already "finished" the 6-month challenge, but I've had some complex life circumstances and didn't give my blog or the challenge the full attention it deserved, so my Alexa ranking is still terrible, so I still consider myself a padawan.  But over these past two months I've back in the game, and I'll be promoting my blog and the blogs of others in this challenge much more intensely now!

Hello Monk,

Good to have you back…well I wasn't around the first time, but you get the idea. Anyway, where is your Alexa ranking now?

Sorry to hear about your life issues, think we all can relate to that so don't sweat it so much, just keep coming back BIGGER, BETTER, STRONGER!!

Khaleef – can you add me to your list?  I thought I added myself to this thread, but I can't find myself anywhere.  (I am lost).

I will add my late intro now-

My name is Kris and my site is http://www.everydaytipsandthou…..hts.com.  I write about personal finance, health, and really just about anything at times.  I try to focus on things people can easily identify with, and try to provide practical solutions and advice on things that happen in everyday life.

I started blogging in March and learned about the Yakezie sometime in April.  I tried joining right away, but had some technical problems.  So, I just started following the rules of the Yakezie, without being an official member.  My rank at that point was 600,000+.

With the help of some great Yakezie pals, I was able to overcome my technical issues and I became a full fledged member in June.  My ranking kept improving, but more importantly, I was meeting great people and learning so much.

My rank now is almost 100,000, and I am thinking of having a small celebration when I cross that milestone.  (I think my celebration will be centered around chocolate…)

To all of you, thank you so much for your support.

I think I need to join you for your chocolate celebration.  What time do we break it out?

Just figured out that this is where my intro post belonged. Whoops!

I joined the Yakezie challenge today October 7, 2010 and my Alexa rank is currently 11,656,453 so Ive got some serious work to do.

A bit embarassing, but I am where I am.

Considering my startign point, I'm hoping to break 500,000 by the
end of my six months in the challenge.

I write about
investing as well as personal finance.

I started this blog because I grew tired of seeing my friends and family lose large amounts of money
during bear markets, so I created a course to teach people how to avoid
these large losses.

I am still working on said course but plan to complete it this year.

Looking forward to working with all of you.Laugh

Welcome, when I first started the challenge I had no idea how fast I would move up the rankings. If you promote well, you'll beat your goal well before the 6 months. I never did any guest posting and Im almost at 100,000 and my blog just turned 6 months old. So what I'm trying to say is get out on the social networks and promote your posts and we'll do what we can to move you up in the rankings.

Hey Matt, welcome back to the Challenge! I joined back in June when the first challenge was ending so I wasn't able to accomplish the goal, but i'm sure with the help from other members, you and I both can reach our milestones in no time! let's continue to work together and i'm sure we can accomplish great things!

James, welcome to the challenge. I am going to tell you like they told me. Just get involved with the forum, follow everyone on twitter, RT people's tweets, visit their blogs and comment, then you will magically see your Alexa plummet.

I know that is hard to believe, but I joined the challenged Oct. 4th or 5th, can't remember, but my alexa has droped 150K in that time. I started at 1.5 million.  And they say the higher you are the easier it is for it to drop, so I suspect that if you are active with people, then you will see your ranking fall like a stack of bricks.

Best of luck to you and let's be sure to hook up and network since we are in the same Beta group together.

Peace & YAKEZIE!!!

Hello,

I joined the challenge today October 8th,2010, my current Alexa Page Rank is 254,708  (down from 600,000 2 months ago).

My goals are to become a better writer, make a little more money to help out with my son's education (he is on the Autism Spectrum) and keep enjoying writing as well (don't want it to become a drudgery that I MUST do).

My rank is 700,000+ right now.

When I joined the challenge over 6 months ago when my blog was new, I had an alexa ranking of 6 million+ and got it down all the way to 400,000, but then with so much going on I let it slide back up to 1 million.  For a time, I was only focusing on content and didn't spend any time on promotion.  The thing is, my traffic has been slowly but constantly improving despite my rank decline, so that's good news at least.  One problem is that I got a new computer and forgot to reinstall the alexa toolbar (since I never look at it and forgot it's there), so there was about a 2-month gap without the toolbar.  So my site wasn't benefitting from my own alexa visits, and neither were fellow bloggers.  But that's been fixed so I've been decreasing my alexa rank again, and hopefully the rank of fellow blogers.

Well the good thing is that you have everything corrected and are back on the right path. Let's make it happen! I would love to get down to 700K, but at this rate and with this group, I am sure it is going to happen in the next couple of weeks.

You might break 500K point much faster than you think. It does require some work but it is possible. Welcome to the challenge!
