Introducing The Yakezie Forums! Thumbnail

Over the past several weeks, we have been working hard to get all of the features that we want for Yakezie.com. Today, we are happy to announce the launch of one of the most important components, the Yakezie Forums!  The Yakezie Forums will replace our Google Groups entirely, and is designed as a way for our readers, members, and authors to communicate with each other behind the scenes on anything and everything.

Just like the Yakezie Google Group, access to the Yakezie Private Forums is by invitation only.  Those who have signed up for a Yakezie Member Post (and were registered by 11PM pacific last night) have already been granted access to the private forums.  This is a manual process, and we have likely missed a few people.  If you don’t see the private forums, and are a Member of the first challenge, let us know in the comments below and we’ll take care of the issue as soon as possible.  For honorable readers, who are not a part of the Yakezie, feel free to access the Public Forums where members and non members alike can interact.  Challengers also have their own Yakezie Challenger Forum in the Public Forums.

To access the forums, click on the “Yakezie Forums” link on the right side of the navigation bar, above.  To contribute to the forums, you must have a Yakezie.com account (Click here to register).  If you have already registered for an account to get your Yakezie belt, don’t worry, the same account works in the forums too.  Chris is working hard to integrate the Yakezie Belt score with the forums, and within the next few weeks, your contributions to the forums will count toward your belt score too.

In order to add a post, make sure that you are logged in, then select the forum that you want to post in.  Once you have clicked on the forum title click on the “Add a New Topic” link on the middle right, type up your post, click “Post New Topic” on the lower right and let the conversations begin!

Please take your time to familiarize yourself with the functionality of the forums.  It’s really quite straight forward and you’ll get the hang of it in no time.  I’ve kick started the Private Forums with eight topics, and have written a post or two in each as well.  Within the Private Forums you’ll find our Carnival and Member Post Schedules, Professional Opportunities, and more.  The Public Forums is a free for all.

Please have a look at each and share your thoughts.  When we finish up the bulk of our Member Posts by end of October, we’ll launch our 2nd challenge, as well as work on the Yakezie Scholarship vertical!

Thanks everyone!

Sam / Chris
