Yakezie Member Post – Squirrelers

Every Squirrel Eventually Finds A Nut

by in Personal Finance on Sep 8th, 2010

Hello! My name is Ray, and I publish the blog Squirrelers. I like long walks on the beach, Pina Coladas, getting caught in the rain….. Ok, enough of that.  Before I lose you, please allow me to properly tell you a little bit more about myself.

Who is “The Wise Squirrel”?

I’m a guy in his late 30’s (wow time flies fast) working in marketing, and living in the suburbs of Chicago. I greatly enjoy time with family, and relish being a Dad. It’s so incredibly rewarding raising children and showing them everything you know – while hoping they become wise enough to show you some things. I absolutely love them. Additionally, I enjoy traveling – I have been to 47 of the 50 states (Alaska, Hawaii, and Maine here I come!), and have traveled to Europe and Asia. There’s not as much time (or money) to do everything as much now, but I hope to pick my spots and do what I can do, at least until the kids get older.  Read More

Yakezie Member Post – Little House in the Valley

Little Houses. Green Living.

by in Personal Finance on Sep 7th, 2010

Some would say I’ve taken the path less traveled; I’ve strayed away from the 9-to-5 corporate cubicle and carved my own career path. The experiences I’ve encountered down this windy, unknown trail have helped define who I am and how I view personal financial choices. A year ago, I decided to begin blogging about my journey to purchase a house and become financially savvy. My reasons for sharing my journey are many, but the incentive to do so was driven through inspiration found among other similar blogs, such as Get Rich Slowly.

Yakezie Member Post – Saving Money Today

Earn More. Save More. Live More.

First, I’d like to thank Financial Samurai for his vision and hard work organizing the Yakezie into the largest personal finance network in the world.   We’ve got a lot of cool bloggers here from all walks of life and I look forward to getting to know each of you.

Now let me tell you a bit about myself and what the Yakezie means to me.

Well, my name is Mike and I live in New Jersey with my beautiful wife and our 3 amazing children.  I love them to death and want to spend as much time with them as possible, and that’s why I first set out on my quest to learn everything I could about saving money, getting our family out of debt, and making money online so I could spend more time at home.

Yakezie Member Post – Sweating The Big Stuff

And Forget About The Little Stuff

In The Beginning…

I’ve always liked having money. I’ve always enjoyed spending it, too. But what I really like about personal finance is finding that perfect balance. I like to treat myself well without breaking the bank.

They don’t teach much personal finance in high school or college, so it wasn’t until late in college that I found out it was something people talked about. I started reading everything I could get my hands on. I didn’t have any money and I was eating pasta 5 times a week, but I enjoyed the topic and loved the knowledge. Read More

Yakezie Member Post – Out of Debt Again

Get Out Of Debt And Stay Out Of Debt

Hello, my name is Mrs. Accountability.  I first learned of the Yakezie Alexa Challenge when Nicole from Rainy Day Saver talked about the group on her blog.  I knew about “Alexa” and had been tracking my rank but I wasn’t exactly sure what it meant. Even so, I decided to join that day with an Alexa ranking of 511,855.  One of the primary goals of the group was to promote one another selflessly, and I’d been trying to do that on my own. Yakezie Member Post – My Journey to Millions

E-Dog The Lawyer

What is Up Yakezites! I have commented on almost every single member’s blog at least once (but most likely way too many times), however if you don’t know me I’m Evan from My Journey to Millions.

A Little Bit About Evan

I am a happily married twenty eight year old on Long Island.  While I do use a good amount of gel, I don’t talk with that awful accent nor have I ever visited a tanning salon (and I never will). Read More

Yakezie Member Post – Invest It Wisely

Don't you want to invest wisely?

by in Personal Finance on Aug 31st, 2010

To begin, here’s a little bit about me: I’m 27, I graduated from university two  years ago, I’ve been working as an R&D engineer ever since then, moved in with my girlfriend last year, and my blogging adventure started just a few months ago. I joined the Yakezie not long after that.

Hearing all of these thank yous must get tiresome after a while, Sam, but I need to say it: Thanks for starting such a cool community, and thanks, everyone, for making the Yakezie great!
